Junior Boys NPL

The JBNPL program at Langwarrin Soccer Club is part of our Academy program, tailored for aspiring young footballers aged Under 14 to Under 17. It offers high-level training and competitive experiences for those looking to enhance their skills on the field.

Participants in the JBNPL program benefit from an extensive season, featuring approximately 33 league games. They receive increased training sessions led by qualified coaches, alongside enhanced facility and game day management standards, all aimed at optimizing player development.

In the Victorian JBNPL, clubs compete in a selective framework, organized into four regions: north, south, east, and west. Langwarrin SC competes in the Southern region during the pre-qualification phase.

The JBNPL caters to players focused on football development, offering a more advanced and intensive experience compared to community-level options. As a result, players are held to higher expectations. They are required to demonstrate advanced technical skills and commit to a longer season with increased training sessions.

All participating clubs are mandated to engage in a 40-week season, which includes regular matches and weekly training sessions. Coaches must possess FA coaching qualifications, and facilities are required to meet specific standards. Players should be prepared to commit to training and matches during most extended weekends and school holidays.

Play by the Rules Parent tips

Be a good role model. Children watch and learn from you, so make sure you set a good example.

Avoid a ‘win at all costs’ attitude. Although you may think winning is important, the focus for junior sport should be on fun.

Be aware that your abusive behaviour may be against the law. Ask yourself, ‘Would my mother be upset or offended by what I am saying or doing?’ If the answer is yes then it’s best to sit down and be quiet.

Try not to be critical of coaches, referees or umpires. Many are volunteers who give their time to make sport possible for all our children, and some are just learning. If you have some constructive advice for them, leave it until after the game (usually 24 hours) or have a chat with the head coach or referee.
