Girls to Senior Women Pathway

This content is promoting an important growth area for Langwarrin Soccer Club and should focus on the opportunities, support, and clear pathway available to girls of all ages. The revised version below is more engaging, concise, and community-focused while highlighting the club's commitment to female football development.

Program Overview

A Complete Pathway for Girls in Football

At Langwarrin Soccer Club, we are committed to creating opportunities for girls of all ages and abilities to enjoy, develop, and succeed in football. Our Girls' Development Pathway provides a welcoming and supportive environment where players can build skills, confidence, friendships, and a lifelong love of the game.

Whether a player is taking their first kick of a football or aspiring to play senior women's football, our pathway offers a clear progression through every stage of development.

Our program includes:

  • Player Development – Age-appropriate coaching focused on technical skills, game understanding, confidence, and enjoyment.
  • Girls-Only Teams – Opportunities to train and compete alongside peers in a positive and supportive team environment.
  • A Clear Progression Pathway – Structured development from junior teams through to our Senior Women's program, providing opportunities for players to continue their football journey at Langwarrin.

An Inclusive Club Environment

Langwarrin Soccer Club proudly welcomes players from all backgrounds and abilities. We foster a culture of respect, inclusion, and belonging, where every player feels valued both on and off the field.

Our club is supported by passionate volunteers, coaches, team managers, and families who help create a positive community experience for every player.

Our Vision for 2027

Following the successful return of our Senior Women's team in 2026, our focus for 2027 is to continue growing female participation across all age groups.

We aim to expand our girls' teams, strengthen player development opportunities, and provide a complete football pathway that enables every girl to achieve her potential while enjoying the game in a fun, safe, and supportive environment.

U7-U16 Development Girls | 2027 Season EOI

Season Information

Preseason and Training
Preseason training kicks off every February or early March, providing an ideal opportunity for players to regain their rhythm, sharpen their skills, and develop camaraderie with teammates. To prepare for the upcoming season, we may organize friendly matches or gala days for additional practice.

Training sessions are held twice a week, focusing on player development and match readiness. Each session follows the Football Australia curriculum, emphasizing essential skills such as ball mastery, first touch, striking the ball, running with the ball, and 1v1 situations.

Typical training sessions include
  • Warm-ups
  • Skills development
  • Small-sided games
  • A standard match to conclude the session

Official Competition Season
The official FV football season commences in April and runs through September. Matches are scheduled both at home and away. Juniors will participate in initial grading matches organized by FV, which helps determine the final league placements for each team.

Team Photos
Throughout the season, we will plan team photo days. These moments are a wonderful opportunity to capture memories with your teammates and celebrate the spirit of unity within your squad. Don’t forget to bring your best smiles!

End of Season Presentation
As the season wraps up, we host an End of Season Presentation, typically in October, to celebrate the achievements and dedication of our players. This event highlights the season’s successes, recognizes outstanding performances, and offers a fitting acknowledgment of everyone's hard work and commitment.

Player Fees

Our Girls Player Fees encompass a comprehensive range of services, including all registration fees for Football Victoria and Football Australia, as well as team fees. These packages provide approximately 26 weeks of coaching, featuring two sessions per week, each lasting one hour. Participants will also engage in preseason matches and receive guidance and support from our club’s Technical Directors. Additionally, the fees include a club membership, which grants entry to all Senior Men's and Women's home games, along with other exclusive benefits.

What is not included?
Playing Kit for all Development.
Personal items such as boots and shin guards are not covered by the fees and should be provided by all members individually.

Important Member Resources

FOR ALL MEMBERS
Parents, Guardians and Players are required to acknowledge and accept the following as being part of the Langwarrin Soccer Clubs Program:

FOR PARENTS

Be a good role model. Children watch and learn from you, so make sure you set a good example.
Avoid a ‘win at all costs’ attitude. Although you may think winning is important, the focus for junior sport should be on fun.
Be aware that your abusive behaviour may be against the law. Ask yourself, ‘Would my mother be upset or offended by what I am saying or doing?’ If the answer is yes then it’s best to sit down and be quiet.
Try not to be critical of coaches, referees or umpires. Many are volunteers who give their time to make sport possible for all our children, and some are just learning. If you have some constructive advice for them, leave it until after the game (usually 24 hours) or have a chat with the head coach or referee.
