Junior Boys | Development

Langwarrin Soccer Club is dedicated to fostering a vibrant community through soccer, offering comprehensive programs for both male and female players of all ages and abilities. We proudly boast more than 50 teams, engaging players from 4 to 40 years old, and creating an inclusive environment for all.

Program Overview

At Langwarrin Soccer Club, we provide two distinct pathways for player development:

Boys Development Pathway: This pathway is designed for developing players, providing a clear route to our Bayside senior men's teams. Players can experience a focused approach to skills enhancement and game understanding while progressing through age-specific teams that cater to their growth.

Our Girls Development Program runs parallel to this pathway, featuring teams across different skill levels. This initiative aims to create a clear pathway to our newly established Senior Women’s team, ensuring opportunities for girls to excel in soccer.

Inclusive Team Environment

We pride ourselves on being a community club where players from all backgrounds can enjoy team sports in a supportive atmosphere. Our commitment to player retention and growth is reflected in our increasing membership each year, made possible by the active involvement of families through coaching, managing, and volunteering on committees and game days.

For the 2026 season, we aim to bolster our female participation and expand our roster of dedicated girl's teams across all age groups. This has been underpinned by the reintroduction of our Senior women's team for the 2025 season, creating a clear pathway for our aspiring girls as we nurture the next generation of soccer stars while facilitating a fun and engaging environment.

General Season Information

Preseason and Training
Preseason training kicks off every February or early March, providing an ideal opportunity for players to regain their rhythm, sharpen their skills, and develop camaraderie with teammates. To prepare for the upcoming season, we may organize friendly matches or gala days for additional practice.

Training sessions are held twice a week, focusing on player development and match readiness. Each session follows the Football Australia curriculum, emphasizing essential skills such as ball mastery, first touch, striking the ball, running with the ball, and 1v1 situations.

Typical training sessions include
  • Warm-ups
  • Skills development
  • Small-sided games
  • A standard match to conclude the session

Official Competition Season
The official FV football season commences in April and runs through September. Matches are scheduled both at home and away. Juniors will participate in initial grading matches organized by FV, which helps determine the final league placements for each team.

Team Photos
Throughout the season, we will plan team photo days. These moments are a wonderful opportunity to capture memories with your teammates and celebrate the spirit of unity within your squad. Don’t forget to bring your best smiles!

End of Season Presentation
As the season wraps up, we host an End of Season Presentation, typically in October, to celebrate the achievements and dedication of our players. This event highlights the season’s successes, recognizes outstanding performances, and offers a fitting acknowledgment of everyone's hard work and commitment.

Player Fees

Our Player Fees encompass a comprehensive range of services, including all registration fees for Football Victoria and Football Australia, as well as team fees. These packages provide approximately 26 weeks of coaching, featuring two sessions per week, each lasting one hour. Participants will also engage in preseason matches and receive guidance and support from our club’s Technical Directors. Additionally, the fees include a club membership, which grants entry to all Senior Men's and Women's home games, along with other exclusive benefits.

Important Member Resources

FOR ALL MEMBERS
Parents, Guardians and Players are required to acknowledge and accept the following as being part of the Langwarrin Soccer Clubs Program:

FOR PARENTS

Be a good role model. Children watch and learn from you, so make sure you set a good example.
Avoid a ‘win at all costs’ attitude. Although you may think winning is important, the focus for junior sport should be on fun.
Be aware that your abusive behaviour may be against the law. Ask yourself, ‘Would my mother be upset or offended by what I am saying or doing?’ If the answer is yes then it’s best to sit down and be quiet.
Try not to be critical of coaches, referees or umpires. Many are volunteers who give their time to make sport possible for all our children, and some are just learning. If you have some constructive advice for them, leave it until after the game (usually 24 hours) or have a chat with the head coach or referee.
